S'NEK: Fillers

AfterEffects, Corel, Illustrator, Photoshop After completing the new channel identity design for S'NEK, we were asked to develop a series of 30-second long filler animations to be aired between programs.

Each of these was to be a separate piece with no relation to the other two. Each took its own, unique way from the concept to the screen.

By the way, before you ask, there is no Filler 03 :)

S'NEK: Fillers 01: Underwater

AfterEffects, Photoshop This one started on a meeting we held with Digiturk, regarding the design of new S'NEK logo. Whenever on a meeting, Quba has a tendency to doodle cartoon-style pictures on every single piece of paper in his reach.

This two-hour long meeting resulted in a series of mutant fly pictures - looking like some weird microbes. The directors of the channel liked the doodles and asked us to incorporate them somewhere in the course of the project.

The day we started on this video was particularly hot, and the only thing in our head was to break out of the office and go swimming. We could not - but we let the cartoon bugs have some fun.

S'NEK: Filler 02: Everyday People

AfterEffects, Corel, Illustrator While working on other projects, Ciğdem was playing around with Corel Draw, creating a series of graphics titled Silly People. The library of the characters grew very quickly - soon there were people, children, plants and animals in a set of over 100 pictures.

Since one of the main goals of S'NEK redesign was to broaden its audience, Silly People seemed as an ideal choice of material for diverse imagery in a unique graphic style.

The flipping animation is an echo of our recent travels and airport's old-style schedule boards. The title was changed in order not to offend the audience :)

S'NEK: Filler 04: TÜnel Invasion

AfterEffects, PhotoshopIstanbul, where both imago and S'NEK are located, is a crazy place. Over 12 Million people live, work and party in this city (not counting the tourists). Crowded streets and insane road traffic are everywhere.

We decided to empty one of the most congested areas of Istanbul, the Istiklal Avenue. Virtually, of course. We took some photos in Tünel, Istanbul (hence the name) and created this short video in a lazy hot summer mood.
